Making the most of orthodontics with our team

Tuesday, 17th May, 2022

Dental care is not the one-way street that you think it is. Our orthodontics Navan can be key to making big changes, but it requires your engagement as much as our dental skills. So, let's find out how to get the most out of our surgery and how you can be part of reaching your best.

Treating misalignments

Misalignments come in many shapes and forms, from overly gappy teeth to crowded crossbites.  Each type has its own challenges; an underbite is treated slightly differently to an overbite. Our role is to assess your needs and ensure you get optimal treatment. If we can treat you in our surgery, we will, but we are not a specialist orthodontist and may refer you if your misalignment is severe. However, this is a rare occurrence and we will usually have the right tools to help you. We prioritise your health over selling a treatment that is unlikely to be efficient. It is this straightforward honesty that has earned us the loyalty of so many of our patients.

Types of orthodontic tools

We use clear aligners and braces to carry out the majority of our orthodontics Navan, with sets of retainers and night guards that can be very useful in maintaining the final positions of your teeth.

In recent years, there has been significant growth in the use of aligners. They can be extremely good at addressing the majority of orthodontic misalignments without the social impact of braces. Not to mention the additional time spent maintaining and cleaning braces after eating.

Unfortunately, they are not universally beneficial and sometimes traditional metal braces will give you results, with a little patience, that you could not get from an aligner. With each case being unique, you would have to attend an assessment before we would be able to comment on which treatment would be the best for you.

Pricing and medical cards

With orthodontics Navan or general dentistry, we accept an assortment of patients, private, PRSI or holding medical cards. We always aim to practise inclusive dentistry at the surgery maintaining an excellent standard of care regardless of background.

We are unfortunately in the minority of dental care providers in fully embracing the state programmes. Due to their limited adoption, there can be significant waiting lists, but we will always endeavour to see patients and have many travelling in from significant distances. So, please contact the clinic before you plan any travel to ensure we are available to see you.

If you do have to cancel, please provide 24-hours notice so we can make a session available to other patients who are waiting. We also accept the VHI insurance plans, both for an individual and for family cover.

If you have any further questions about how our pricing works, or would like to join the surgery, please feel free to get in contact. You can do this over the phone or by email and if you contact us out of hours and provide your phone number, we'll get back to you as soon as the surgery is open.
